A pure stand of Mesembryanthemum. A small Euphorbia like plant - but without value for forage. This is apparently greatly favored by overgrazing - and an area of breaking (called here Brek - or Brekked land) showed almost a pure stand. Roadways on hills behind look to be war roads (Boer war), since this was one of the chief centers of action. A yellow composite is occasionally found in this area.
