- We are using Omeka for exhibitions development for Commons content. Because our architectures are so similar, we are integrating Omeka more and more into the Commons. Eventually, we could fully imagine that the Commons will be Omeka-based, Zend framework. (2008.04.30)

- The Commons Knowledge Base uses Dokuwiki.

- Commons personnel use Mantis for bug tracking. We are hopeful that within the coming fiscal year, we will be able to configure our bug tracking such that we can release to the public all tracking issues for open review.

- We are evaluating JSON for use with the Digital Commons. This might be a premature posting. Might not.

- We are considering the use of Blogger for some portal and exhibit functionalities.

- Our search functionality (whether Commons or Omeka) is built using Lucene.
